Christmas 2011 in Cocoa Beach, Florida

We spent Christmas Eve to New Years Eve in Florida. One day the beach was littered with these very scary creatures...Man O War...they kept me out of the water that day.

I guess we've been using Facebook and kinda forgot about our blog...

Went ATVing last weekend in Moab, UT and had a great time.

Where has summer gone????

Summer is over already :( We had a very busy summer: dance recital in Cali, Anna & McKalynn visiting, Cameron & his buddy, Brant visiting, 35th high school reunion, Bonnie & Billy visiting...trips to Cali (3), trips to Yellowstone (2), trip to Moab and going to an ATV week-long event (pics above--riding an ATV in town is fun, reading New Moon again before the movie comes out while waiting for ATV parade to start). I'm hoping to go to Cali to sometime soon to see grandkids play soccer and a trip to Apple Hill for the best caramel apples in the world.

Summer Vacation with G-ma and G-pa

Friday McKalynn and Anna will be heading back to California. So far they...

In Utah, wait five minutes and the weather will change...

It's a beautiful summer day when suddenly, the wind starts blowing, the trees are thrashing around, and clouds sail overhead. The sky turns dark and in the distance a misty haze is floating up the canyon towards us...

The wind blew so hard that I had to stop videoing. Next a cloud burst and rain pounded downward. Once the lightning and thunder started, McKalynn and Anna ran into the house. It's a crazy sight, and scary too. Then, a few minutes later the storm was over and we could see blue sky in the west and later in the evening (about 9:30 pm) this sunset.

Recital

Fathers' Day weekend was Emily and Anna's dance recital. It was so much fun. Anna did a ballet dance and she had a little solo part. Emily did ballet, tap and jazz dances. Their performance was outstanding. Grandma Nay got to hang out with Spencer and Lyla while JeNae, Cameron and Emily went on a pioneer trek and Jayson went to work. This picture of Lyla is serious bed head. Then on Fathers' Day, Jayson & JeNae made a yummy curry chicken dinner and Jayson made the best cheesecake. Renee's high school friend, Teri, also joined us for dinner. Good times.

Dancing Fever in June

Anna had her first (of 3) dance recitals for June! She did so well and had so much fun. She sure loves to dance her little heart out. This was a recital for all the beginning classes. This was her first year of dance and can't wait for next where she starts the Pre-teen classes. Oh my, where has the time gone? Pre-teen?

Amy and her 3 kiddies came and enjoyed all the fun dances and pretty costumes. We are so proud of our little Anna Banana... k, gotta go do hair and makeup for the dance competition downtown today for her ballet class. I've heard her teacher, JoHanna Summerhayes wins lots of awards for her choreography... this oughta be fun!

God Made Dirt, Dirt Don't Hurt!

245 Days? Boo Hoo

Did you notice our LOST counter at the bottom? 245 days. :'(

I shed a tear as I sit grieving of my loss of LOST on this lonely Wednesday evening.

Northern Utah ATV Riders Club

Yesterday Rick, Wayne and Renee went on their first ATV club ride. We went out west of Lehi in the desert with about 24+ ATV riders and rode for 91 miles--it took all day long. It was really fun, hard, bumpy, fun, beautiful, interesting, fun and we used every muscle in our bodies which are screaming in pain today. The pictures below are from when we were on open trails, but we also went up into the mountains where there were old mining towns and graveyards. The leader of this ride told history and stories at all the places we stopped. Fun day!

Then, today (Wednesday) we went to the San Diego Zoo. This hippo is so cute!!! He's underwater and was swimming all over his tank--it was so cool.

So Cal Trip

We're trying to do some educational stuff like.....

we visited Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, in Oceanside.

Then we spent the afternoon flying kites on the beach and watching Cameron...

No need to risk life for the swine flu---please let me know you have stayed out of restaurants and crowds of any kind. A crowdless beach is the only good place... (maybe)

Huh?

Yeah, you heard me, "BLURB!!!" So I found it on Ben Brasher's blog (well actually his wife posted it) in a post about publishing your blog into a book. Cuts out stupid boring overendulgent scrapbooking... UGH.

Anyway, I'm super excited!!! Thanks for posting about this Emmy (Ben's wife)!

So JeNae, no more scoffing about blogging! It's a fast easy way to journal our lives and have a cool yearbook each year. SO START ONE TODAY!!!

Last night the whole crew went to the Mayan for dinner and a show.
"Mayan" cliff diver suddenly showed up on our balcony.
